Preview:
Braves look to extend their MLB high winning streak to eleven games in today's matinee game against the Royals at Turner Field. In last night's ball game, the Braves used five solo HRs to power past Kansas City 6-3. Juan Francisco led the way with two solo shots in the 2nd and 7th innings. Jason Heyward, Justin Upton, and Dan Uggla all added homers in the 8th to put away the game.
Mike Minor takes the mound this afternoon as the Braves look to to sweep the quick two game series from the Royals. In Minor's last start against the Marlins, he was absolutely brilliant, pitching 5.2 innings of shutout ball and only giving up five hits, walked a batter, and struck out four as he got his second win of the season. Opposing Minor is the off season acquisition, Wade Davis. Davis was part of the deal that sent James Shields from the Rays to the Royals. In Davis last start against the Twins, he pitched five strong innings while giving up four hits, walked three batters, and struck out six in the win.
