Tonight's Preview: Hudson going for 200th win
Tim Hudson earned his first career win on June 13, 1999, pitching seven strong innings while giving up seven hits, two runs (one earned), walked two batters, and struck out eight. Tonight, Hudson will try to reach a significant milestone as he will go for win number 200 in his illustrious career. If he indeed wins his 200th game tonight, Hudson will become the third active pitcher to reach the milestone (Andy Pettitte, Roy Halladay). Another amazing feat about Hudson's career is that he has NEVER had a losing season in his 14-year career. In his previous start against the Nationals last Saturday, Hudson pitched seven spectacular innings, giving up four hits, one run (earned), and struck out three as he won his second game of the season, the 199th victory of his career.
Opposing Tim Hudson tonight will be Pirates starting pitcher Wandy Rodriguez, who make his first start since straining his hamstring on April 8th against the D-Backs. In that start, Rodriguez lasted only 2.1 innings before leaving the game with the aforementioned injury. In his only win of the season, Rodriguez pitched 6.2 scoreless innings while giving up only two hits, walked a batter, and struck out six against the Cubs on April 3rd.

Laird behind the plate, Gattis to play 1B:
For the first time this season, Gerald Laird will make his second consecutive start behind the plate and Evan Gattis will play first base tonight for the second time this season. Laird has had some success against Wandy Rodriguez, going 4-for-7 with a double. The NL's leading hitter, Chris Johnson, will play 3B tonight, pushing Juan Francisco to the bench with a lefty on the mound in Wandy Rodriguez.
